California Satsang Society

Eckankar, the Path of Spiritual Freedom, is a nonprofit religious organization and church with headquarters in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The spiritual home of Eckankar is the Temple of ECK, completed in 1990, which is located on the Eckankar Spiritual Campus in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

The California Satsang Society is the chartered affiliate of Eckankar within the state of California.

All Volunteer Leadership

A volunteer regional spiritual leader, known as the Regional ECK Spiritual Aide (RESA), is appointed to support Eckankar activities in California. The RESA is assisted by an organization of volunteers who coordinate regional and local activities, including a board of trustees, Satsang Society officers, and statewide and local directors.

Local directors in turn are assisted by teams of coordinators and other volunteers. This extensive organization of volunteers oversees a thriving and growing community of ECKists in California, and provides a welcoming atmosphere for all who wish to learn more about the teachings of ECK.

Local Service Areas

In California, Eckankar encompasses 28 local service areas located throughout the state, each of which serves as a spiritual focal point for the members of the ECK community, as well as a place where the public can receive information about the teachings of ECK.

In larger metropolitan areas, you'll typically find an Eckankar Center where you can get free information, purchase books and tapes, or attend introductory talks, Eck Light and Sound services, classes, workshops, and seminars. ECK Centers are open to the public during drop-in hours and during public events. Centers publish a monthly newsletter that is free to the public. To get a free subscription, contact the ECK center near you.

In less populated areas, introductory events are held in public libraries and community centers, and classes may be held in members' homes. In these areas, ECK Information Contacts are available to assist you. Feel free to contact them with questions about Eckankar or local activities.

ECK Clergy Services

ECK clerics are ordained after many years of training and service. An ECK cleric leads Eck Light and Sound Services and officiates the four ECK Celebrations of Life.

The public and ECK members are welcome to contact a qualified ECK cleric about the following services. (There are no fees for the services, but voluntary donations to Eckankar are accepted.)

ECK Consecration Ceremony for babies and very young children. It celebrates new life and the beginning of a new phase in Soul's journey home to God.

ECK Rite of Passage for youth on the threshold of becoming adults, at about age thirteen.

ECK Wedding Ceremony celebrates the marriage bond and commitment of the couple to bring a deep spiritual awareness to their life together.

ECK Memorial Service honors the journey of Soul and celebrates a loved one's life and passage to a new life in the spiritual worlds.

ECK Spiritual Aide Sessions can help with challenging situations in your life. The ESA session does not involve counseling, but is a spiritual session that helps you find your own answers through the personal guidance of Divine Spirit. ESA sessions are conducted by ECK clerics who are specially trained and appointed as ECK Spiritual Aides.

To contact an ECK cleric, call or visit your local ECK Center.
